Legend along the upper edge of the coin says ". OPERATION JUST CAUSE .". Legend along the bottom edge of the coin says "20 DECEMBER 1989 - 31 JANUARY 1990". In the center is an outline of the country of Panama, with an American flag above the map and a Panamanian flag below the map. The coin has a smooth plain raised edge, and a plain and smooth background.

Edge The edge of the coin is inscribed "DKP 601-833-6891", which are the initials and phone number of the designer/manufacturer of this challenge coin.

Historical Note The order was placed with Don K. Phillips by Master Sergeant Michael Tsung, for an initial quantity of 250. The original idea behind the coin was to allow Phillips to sell the coins to anyone who was interested in purchasing. For that reason MSgt Tsung made them generic in design.
