Obverse Design "SHIP'S" curved along the top. "SERVICE" and "STORE" in two lines across the center. "COCO SOLO, C.Z." curving along the bottom (C.Z. stands for Canal Zone). Circle of beads close to the edge. Smooth plain raised edge.
Reverse Design Large incuse "1".
Metal Aluminum. Weight Unknown. Size and Shape Round, 20 mm in diameter (Cunnigham says 19 mm).
Dates Issued Unknown.
Issuer Coco Solo. This was a Navy base established in 1918 and initially used as a submarine base.
Mintage Unknown.
Rarity Very Rare. Manufacturer Unknown. Other Catalog Numbers Cunningham's CZ60a.
Varieties Pieces are known with "1", "2" and "4" on the reverse. Perhaps there is also a "3" variety. The numbers were attributed by Plumer to be ship's watch numbers.

Population Count Only one specimen in collector hands is known to me. I do not know of any recent sales.
