Obverse Design The legend "ALEXANDER HOSKINS" curves along the top. The legend "ANCON" goes across the token near the center. There is one bow ornament above "ANCON" and one bow ornament below. The ornament below curves along the bottom. The token has denticles along the edge and a rim.
Reverse Design The legend "VALE UN CIGARRO" (Value One Cigar) curves along the top. The legend "CTVOS." (abbreviation of "CENTAVOS" which means "CENTS") curves along the bottom. In the center is a large "5" in the middle of a swirl. The swirl has a circular rim. The token has denticles along the edge and a rim.

Varieties A variety is known in brass which has the same reverse design. The obverse of that variant is the same as the reverse, and no name appears on it.
