PT-150.50 (CHICAGO HOUSE 50 cents)


Obverse Design The legend "CHICAGO HOUSE" curves along the top. The legend "COLON" curves along the bottom. Dividing the top legend from the bottom legend on either side is a five-point star. In the center are two text lines and an ornament line. The top line says "53", and has two dots on either side of the "53". The second line says "FRONT ST.". The third line has a five-point star in the center with three dots on either side. The token has a dentured edge, and a smooth raised rim.
Reverse Design The center of the token has a large "50¢". It is enclosed by a circle of beads, which are far from the edge of the token. The token has a smooth slightly raised rim.
Metal Aluminum. Size and Shape Round, 30 (or 31) mm in diameter.
Dates Issued Unknown, sometime after 1850 (when Colon was founded).
Issurer Chicago House.
Mintage Unknown.

Notes Chicago House was most likely a hotel at 53 Front Street in Colon.
